것ざっくり
크로플 (keu·ro·peul) is croissant dough pressed in a waffle iron: the layers of a croissant with the grid and crunch of a waffle. Elle Korea traced it in March 2020 to cafés such as 아우프글렛 in Geumho-dong, Seoul, where it came with a scoop of ice cream, and listed what followed on top: whipped cream, strawberries, banana, blueberries, maple syrup. The lockdown made it a home recipe, frozen croissant dough, a buttered waffle maker, about two minutes.

By December 2020 it was a chain item. Mega Coffee put three on its winter menu, plain, cheddar cheese and ice cream (Seoul Economic TV, 9 December 2020).
