것The deal
남포면옥 (nam·po·myeon·ok) is at 을지로3길 24, 150 metres from 을지로입구역 exit 1-1. Visit Seoul says it opened in 1972, started by 곽봉순 from 진남포 in 평안도, who settled in Seoul after the war, and is now run by the third generation. The 평양냉면 broth follows 평안도 practice: 동치미 buried in the ground to ferment, blended with meat stock (Seoul city's 오래가게 release). The other named dishes are 갈비탕 and 어복쟁반.

Hours are 11:00 to 22:00 Monday to Friday and 11:00 to 21:00 at weekends, open every day. The restaurant spans an old building and a new one joined inside. Seoul lists it among its 오래가게, shops with thirty years or more of history.
