성수동 (seong·su·dong) is a district in Seongdong-gu on the north bank of the Han, with the Seoul Forest park at its western edge. Visit Seoul's August 2026 walking route describes what you see: brick warehouses and former shoe workshops with cafés, beauty stores, pop-ups and galleries inside them. The city's tourism site says about 70 percent of Korea's handmade shoe makers are still here.
The shopping runs along 연무장길 (yeon·mu·jang·gil), named after a Joseon-era drill ground, which starts about 500 metres from Seongsu station exit 3. On the park side, the lanes around 서울숲2길 are what the city calls the 성수동 아틀리에길 (a·teul·li·e·gil), a strip of workshops, cafés and restaurants near Seoul Forest's gate 4. The park itself opened in 2005 and is free, 24 hours.
The district's calendar is pop-ups. In the first week of November 2026 the ground floor of 올리브영N 성수 had a League of Legends store, rom&nd had its tenth-birthday party at its flagship on 연무장길, and a ministry fair put a hundred small makers in two buildings for four days.
Take line 2 to Seongsu and leave by exit 3 or 4; both put you on 연무장길 within a few minutes. The numbered side lanes (연무장5길, 연무장7길, 연무장17길) hold the flagships. For the park, use Seoul Forest station on the Suin-Bundang line, exits 3 and 4, or Ttukseom on line 2, exit 8. Pop-up dates slip, so check the brand's own notice before you go; Visit Seoul says the same on its 연무장길 page.
