성수동 is the old shoe district east of the river where brands open short-lived stores to test what they will sell next year. The local curation site 성수동고릴라 publishes a monthly pop-up book; November’s is built around games, music and animation.
The biggest this week is Riot Games’ MUSIC & WORLDS 26 store, open since 29 October for the League of Legends world championship, with about 170 pieces of merchandise, photo zones and kiosks. It closes on Sunday 8 November.
The pop-ups follow what is on screens. The LoL finals are this month, Pepero Day is on the 11th, and the chains want you to see the goods in a room rather than on a shelf. CU is turning its 성수디저트파크 branch into a Pokémon concept store from 4 to 12 November, and emart24 has a 재혼황후 webtoon zone at its 트렌드랩 성수 store until 16 November.
None of these last. That is the district’s model: a store for two weeks, a queue for the first three days, then the next one.

Check a store’s Instagram the night before. Dates slip, and the goods that sell out are not restocked.
Everything here is within fifteen minutes on foot of Seongsu station exit 3.
