명동돈가스 (myeong·dong·don·ga·seu) opened in 1983 at 명동3길 8, 244 metres from 을지로입구역 exit 6. Its own site says it introduced the Japanese-style 돈가스 to Korea: a thick cut of pork in crisp breadcrumbs, fried to order and sliced for chopsticks, as against the thin, flattened, sauce-soaked cutlet of the old 경양식 restaurants. The kitchen is open so you can watch from the counter on the ground floor.
Visit Seoul lists it open 11:00 to 21:00 every day, closed on public holidays, with prices in the 10,000-won range and 코돈브로 as the one to order: a loin cutlet rolled thin around vegetables and pizza cheese.
을지로입구역 (line 2) exit 6, four minutes on foot. Sit at the ground-floor counter if you want to watch the frying.
One cordon bleu cutlet, please.
