애니메이트 (ae·ni·me·i·teu) in Korea is run by 대원미디어, the company behind much of the Japanese animation shown here, and its Hongdae shop sits on the fifth floor of AK Plaza at 양화로 188. GQ Korea's September 2025 guide to anime-goods shops lists it with goods for Japanese and Korean titles, games, books and character merchandise, renovated not long before. An Animate café shares the floor.

Hours: GQ gives 11:00 to 21:40 on weekdays and 10:30 to 21:40 at weekends; Naver lists the same opening times with closing at 22:00. Phone 02-3144-7357. Parking in the building is 2,000 won for the first 30 minutes, then 1,000 won per 10 minutes up to 10,000 won.
