망원시장 (mang·won·si·jang) has been trading for more than forty years, and Visit Seoul says it is now busiest with people in their twenties and thirties. The listing gives 10:00 to 21:00 every day, with each shop setting its own hours, and names the counters people come for: Q's Dakgangjeong for sweet-and-spicy fried chicken, Hwanginho Croquette for spicy croquettes and doughnuts, plus tteokgalbi and traditional liquor.
Seoul Mediahub went in March 2024 and found a bowl of kalguksu for about 5,000 won, freshly puffed rice, sesame oil pressed on the spot and fruit a little cheaper than the supermarkets. Most stalls take the Seoul Love gift certificate by QR code, and the market delivers within 2 km through the 놀장 app, within two hours of ordering.
The market has an English site and accessible toilets, parking and pathways. The public car park at 포은로6길 10 charges 300 won per five minutes and takes 30 percent off for up to two hours if you show a market receipt, according to one of the shops.
Exit 2, five minutes on foot. Eat as you walk, then carry a box of chicken to the river park. Most stalls take the Seoul Love gift certificate by QR code.
