것ざっくり
걷고싶은거리 (geot·go·si·peun·geo·ri) means the street you want to walk on. It is the car-free stretch at 347-20 Seogyo-dong, 170 m from exit 8, and Visit Seoul lists it as Hongdae R2 Busking Street: pop songs, dance crews, magic and mime. Performers register in advance through Mapo-gu's system, and in spring and autumn the district runs a welcome event for tourists with traditional games.

Mapo-gu made the 300 m section pedestrian-only in September 2014, from the Gyeongui and airport line exit 7 to the KB Kookmin Bank Seogyo branch, after a 220 m car-free stretch of 어울마당로 the year before. The 2014 plan gave it a wooden stage and an open plaza and closed it to cars on Saturdays and Sundays from two in the afternoon until ten.
The street's reputation goes back to 2010, when the band 10CM practised on the pavement here because they had no rehearsal room, and 2011, when Busker Busker came second on Superstar K3. Dailian wrote in 2023 that the busking went quiet during the pandemic and came back once the rules were lifted. Seoul Mediahub's 2024 piece found different acts at the Red Road plaza every day.
