것The deal
유니클로 명동점 (yu·ni·keul·lo myeong·dong·jeom) opened on Friday 22 May 2026 on floors 1 to 3 of the Le Méridien hotel at 명동8나길 38. Uniqlo's own page lists it open 11:00 to 21:00 every day, about 3,200 square metres, selling women's, men's, kids' and baby lines, with the UTme! custom-print service, a RE.UNIQLO repair studio and pickup lockers on the ground floor. Seoul Shinmun put the floor area at 3,254.8 square metres (about 1,000 평) and said fewer than twenty Uniqlo stores worldwide carry the global flagship name.

The layout, per Seoul Shinmun: core women's and men's pieces, a Lifewear magazine corner and the UT graphic-tee zone on 1; women's, kids and baby and a photo exhibit on Myeongdong past and present on 2; men's, the tax-refund counter and the repair and embroidery studio on 3. The UTme! stamps include designs made with the local names HBAF, 부루의 뜨락, 진주회관 and 을지다방. Chosun Ilbo described a 100-metre queue outside on opening day, five years after Uniqlo's previous Myeongdong store closed.
