것The deal
롯데타운 드림 라이트 가든 (rot·de·ta·un deu·rim ra·i·teu ga·deun) is the Christmas dressing of 롯데백화점 본점 for 2026, lit on 30 October. Newspim and Hankyung (31 October 2026) describe about 20,000 bulbs on the outer walls, a roughly 100-metre 빛의 스트리트 from 을지로입구역 past the main building to Avenuel, a 15-metre heart-shaped light tree on the route, and a four-metre figure of a new character, 헤이예티, at the entrance beside the older mascot 똔뚜. The theme is a European garden mixed with lighting and media art. Newspim notes Lotte has moved the switch-on earlier each year since 2021.
More about it
A large media facade is due on the 영플라자 building later in the year: Seoul Economic Daily reported in July that the 77 by 21 metre screen is set for a December opening. No end date for the lights is given.
