것ざっくり
망원동 (mang·won·dong) is the neighbourhood around Mangwon station on line 6, west of Hongdae. Visit Seoul lists its market as more than forty years old and popular with people in their twenties and thirties, and gives the café-and-shop streets around Poeun-ro their own name, 망리단길 (mang·ni·dan·gil), 490 m from exit 2.

The shops Visit Seoul picks out are small: an illustration brand's showroom, a vintage prop shop, a zero-waste refill shop and an LP café, all within a few hundred metres of the market.
At the river end is Mangwon Hangang Park, a 7.4 km stretch of the north bank between the Wonhyo and Seongsan bridges, with lawns, a 7.2 km bike path and the Seoul Battleship Park. Seoul's park office says to take exit 1 at Mangwon station and bus 마포09 or 마포16.
