닥터X: 하얀 마피아의 시대 is SBS’s Friday and Saturday drama, running since 9 October 2026 and streaming on Netflix the same night. Kim Ji-won plays a freelance surgeon who takes no orders and loses no patients, inside a university hospital run like a cartel. Lee Jung-eun, Son Hyun-joo and Jang Seung-jo are around her.
It is a remake of TV Asahi’s Doctor-X, the Japanese series that ran seven seasons from 2012 and had a film in 2024.
The numbers moved fast. The first episode drew 11.4 percent of the national audience; by episode six it was 19.5 percent, which in 2026 is the kind of figure only a few dramas a year reach. On Netflix it reached second place in the global weekly top ten for non-English series.
The pull is the character: a woman in a hospital full of men with titles, who is better than all of them and says so. The Japanese original ran on the same line for a decade. The Korean version keeps the catchphrase and adds the hospital politics Korean dramas do well.
