In 2026 the Royal Palaces and Tombs Center waived admission to the four Seoul palaces, Jongmyo and the royal tombs from 29 October to 15 November for the Korea Grand Festival. The Secret Garden tour is not part of it, and the usual closing days stay: Gyeongbokgung and Jongmyo close on Tuesdays, the others on Mondays. Gyeongbokgung opens 9 to 5 in November, last entry an hour before.
Go at opening on a weekday. Two palaces in an afternoon is the free-entry maths. If you want a walk under the leaves, take the stone wall path from City Hall past Deoksugung.
